Dubai, UAE - Philips is proud to announce its participation in Epic, the sustainable living expo taking place in Dubai mall from the 22nd to the 31st June 2011, to showcase in the Philips Green Home, their range of energy efficient consumer lifestyle and lighting innovations that enable consumers to save energy.

The Philips Vision 2015 strategy, which includes doubling investment in Green Innovation by 2015, highlights the company's commitment to contributing towards a greener environment. These new eco-friendly solutions address a growing consumer demand for sustainable options that enable them to contribute to the environment through small everyday steps. Epic allows Philips to showcase these green alternatives to the general public and business operators, inspiring sustainable consumerism.

The new Philips energy efficient range of consumer lifestyle innovations is made up of several ingenious vacuum cleaners, a powerful handheld vacuum cleaner, a range of energy saving steam irons, a family of volume control and temperature regulating kettles, Blu Ray home theatre systems, Blu Ray DVD players, a range of LCD TVs and a stunning range of consumer lighting. Designed to conveniently reduce their impact on the environment without compromising on performance or design, these appliances benefit from new Philips technology which allows them to work at the same capacity as regular ones but by using less energy or incorporates unique features that enables consumers to actively save energy themselves. Switching to these energy saving appliances will help every household reduce its CO2 emission without having to change their lifestyle.

EnergyCare steam irons

Consumers won't be letting off unwanted steam when it comes to ironing with the new range of EnergyCare steam irons which give great results while saving energy. the EnergyCare's smart steam technology stops steam creation when the iron is lifted from the garment, resulting in energy savings of 20% per ironing session without compromising on end results. No steam wasted, more energy saved.

MiniVac vacuum cleaner

The new MiniVac is the world's most powerful lightweight handheld vacuum cleaner, saves up to 79% energy and has a drastically reduced standby power and uses a non-hazardous Lithium-Ion battery which charges 50% faster than standard MiniVac batteries. The Lithium-Ion battery technology makes the new minivac longer-lasting, more lightweight and more powerful.

The kettle with a One Cup Indicator

The energy efficient kettles with a One Cup Indicator enable consumers to save energy by avoiding boiling more water than needed. By boiling the exact volume of water needed, consumers can achieve an energy saving of up to 66% reducing their impact on the environment. The Philips Temperature Control kettles allows consumers to control the temperature at which water is heated - with options of 40°, 60°, 80° and 100°C - resulting in an energy saving of 25% on household kettles, and a reduction in individuals' carbon footprint.

LED TV

Most Philips TVs carry the Eco- Flower rating and the new LED backlight powered TVs are 40% - 50% more energy efficient than regular LCD TVs with 0W consumption during power-off. The new slim bezel TVs consume less plastic and eliminate the use of hazardous substances. .The Philips 42" Econova television was awarded the 2010 EISA award for the greenest television on the market. Not only does it use LED backlighting for power saving but is also made of re-cycled aluminum of which more than 60% can be re-cycled at end of life. It also has a solar powered remote control eliminating the need for batteries thereby reducing greatly the total environmental impact. In 2011 Philips will have as many as 6 models in the TV range with A+ energy star rating signifying best in class energy saving.

Philips 'Ambience' to celebrate with light

the Philips 'Ambience' range which comprise products that light up from within, through the tiny, embedded, white and colored LED lights. They are designed to add your personal touch when setting a room's and mood ambiance, serving food and drinks, or accentuating decorative item like flowers. You can choose a color and set the brightness to match your interior or your garden. The charging base makes these decorative products wireless, giving you complete freedom of placement anywhere in any combination of colors. 'Ambience' products have a radiant glow that transforms any object or wall, to reveal new details with a magical feel and fascinating effects, with an enchanting aura of light.

The variety of products range from CandleLights, LivingColors, TeaLights, TableLights to sensory SpotOns, and accessories such as Cooler, Coasters, Vase, and Platter.
